WARNING! It's big...

"There can only be one princess in Equestria. And that princess will be ME!"

This piece was a doozy. First of all, line art. Nuff said about that. And secondly it changed style 3 times during the drawing process. So that was different. And lastly, I was gonna have blue fire all around her on the floor and stuff. But I forgot about that and now I don't want to add it any more.

Luna's style was inspired by :iconbleedman: Who made a Nightmare Moon piece as a commission.

Enjoy!

Breaking this composition down, I'd begin by saying that it is lovely set piece. The perspective and consistency of the work throughout highlights a good technical skill and the image feels like an actual location. It's a great work, and one you should be proud of creating.

From a criticism standpoint:
-Luna's presence lacks imposing force. She's the focal point of the image, but the environment fails to reinforce her presence. A larger value range would assist in bumping up the contract around her, helping her to standout further.
-You mentioned that a sensation of anger was the theme that remained with you through the process. The piece has underpinning of angry feelings coming out of it, but those feelings feel muted both by our distance from Luna, and the impact that anger is having on her surroundings. Very little damage has been caused on the set.
Final Grade:
-Vision: 3/5: What you were going for is visible. Subtle touches like the statue weeping add to the mood and make for a nice visual. Not quite outstanding, but it does a good job.
-Originality: 5/5: I've rarely seen anyone do a piece from this perspective, or with this approach. Very different, very interesting, very video gamey. Your approach to what could have easily been a traditional piece wins you points here.
-Technique: 4/5 Nothing that you really don't understand or fail to execute. Good work on the execution front.
-Impact: 3/5: The image doesn't really jump out at you with its motion or contrast.
The stuff in it is subtle and that mutes the punch.

Conclusion: 4 out of 5. Good work!
